A 3D-printed 'bionic eye' prototype
Researchers have, for the first time, fully 3D printed an array of light receptors on a hemispherical surface. This marks a significant step toward creating a "bionic eye" that could help blind people see – or sighted people see even better.

The wheat genome is fully sequenced
After a 13 year effort, scientists have produced the first complete map of the wheat genome. This could lead to better crop varieties that are more adapted to environmental conditions, as well as providing new ways of treating certain wheat-immune diseases and allergies.
